About AudioDock
Built by an indie developer who was frustrated with macOS audio switching.
The Story
I'm Jean-Pierre Baroni, an indie developer based in France. I built AudioDock because I was tired of the tedious process of switching audio devices on my Mac.
As a music producer and podcast listener, I constantly switch between my studio monitors, AirPods, and USB audio interface. Every time, I had to click through System Settings or use the tiny Sound menu — it was slow and frustrating.
I wanted something that felt as natural as the macOS Dock: visual, fast, and always accessible. So I built it myself.
Why AudioDock?
- Native Swift app — No Electron, no web views. Built with Apple's frameworks for maximum performance.
- Privacy-first — No analytics, no tracking, no data collection. Your audio devices stay on your Mac.
- One-time purchase — No subscriptions. Buy once, use forever.
- Indie software — Made by one person who actually uses the app every day.
Technical Background
AudioDock is built entirely in Swift using SwiftUI and CoreAudio APIs. It's optimized for Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) and runs natively on Intel Macs too.
The app is sandboxed, signed, and notarized by Apple. It doesn't require any drivers, kernel extensions, or special permissions beyond audio device access.
